About

A small crew for houses with a lot of trim

Haruko Yoshida started the firm to paint the houses she grew up around: Seattle bungalows and Victorians with more trim than wall.

Today there are eight of us. We keep the crew small so you know who is on your property, and the three leads walk every house before it's priced. We plan around the weather because the paint has to last.

Who comes to the house

A crew of eight, led by three people you'll meet

Haruko, Dongwook and Marites walk the house, set up the work and check it at the end. Five painters work with them.

  • Haruko Yoshida

    Owner and estimator

Walks every house before it's priced and writes the estimate herself. Sets the schedule from the forecast, a week at a time.

  • Dongwook Kwon

    Exterior crew lead

Runs the exterior crew and sets up the plastic, tape and vacuum before anyone scrapes a house built before 1978.

  • Marites Magsaysay

    Prep and trim lead

Leads the prep: wet scraping, sill and casing repair, caulk and the final clean-down of every surface.

How we work

What we'd tell a neighbor

  • We walk the whole house

Every side, with a screwdriver and a camera, before there's a number.

  • We write it down

Surfaces, repairs, coats, products and payments, on paper, before the work starts.

  • We watch the sky

Forecast checks the evening before and at 6 a.m., and a text from us when plans change.

Meet us at the house.

Request a walk-through and one of the leads will come.
